Card on file

No-Show Protection Without Taking a Deposit

Clients save a card when they book and pay nothing up front. If they don’t turn up, or cancel inside your notice period, you choose whether to charge the fee you set. Nothing is ever charged automatically.

Free forever for 1-2 staff. Flat €6/month for larger teams. No marketplace commission.

The diary

Your whole day on one screen

The diary you run the business from, with everything about each appointment on it. These are real screens from Slotivo’s demo businesses.

  • Everyone on the team side by side, each in their own colour.
  • Drag an appointment to move it to another time or person.
  • See at a glance who has paid a deposit and filled in their form.
Protect the chair

Fewer empty chairs, without putting clients off

The tools salons ask for most: no-show protection without a deposit, clients who move appointments rather than miss them, and offers for quiet days. All included on every plan, free plan too.

No-show protection

Card on file instead of a deposit

Clients save a card when they book a colour or a cut and pay nothing up front. If they don’t turn up, or cancel inside your notice period, you choose whether to charge the fee you set or let it go. Nothing is ever charged automatically.

Self-service rescheduling

Clients reschedule instead of not showing

Every confirmation and reminder email has a reschedule link that only offers times that are really free, so a clash becomes a new booking, not an empty chair.

Discount codes

Discount codes for quiet days

Percentage or fixed-amount codes, limited to chosen services, a number of uses, once per client or a closing date. Fill a slow Tuesday without discounting Saturday.

Booking terms

Your terms, agreed before they book

Write your own booking terms. The booking page links them next to a cancellation policy written from the notice and refund settings you actually enforce.

Service menu

“From” prices for colour

Show “From £85” where length and thickness change the price, and group the menu into categories so clients find balayage without scrolling past every cut.

Service menu

Best sellers at the top

Drag services into the order clients see them, so the treatments you want booked are the first they find.

What you get

Protection that stays in your hands

Slotivo flags the fee and you make the call, so a regular with a genuine emergency never gets charged by a machine.

Nothing to pay up front

Clients save a card through Stripe when they book and tick a consent box. They aren’t charged anything.

Your fee, your notice period

Set the fee as a percentage or a fixed amount (never more than the service price), and how many hours’ notice clients must give. 48 hours is the default.

Charge or waive, by hand

A late cancellation or a booking you mark as a no-show shows a fee to review. You press Charge or Waive, on the web or in the Pro app.

Refunds and bank checks handled

Refund a fee in full or in part. If the client’s bank asks them to approve the charge, Slotivo emails them a link to do it.

How card on file works

1

Connect Stripe and switch it on

In Settings → Payments choose “Card on file instead of a deposit”, then set your fee and notice period.

2

Clients save a card when they book

Your booking page shows the policy, asks for consent and saves the card to your own Stripe account. Bookings you make by phone or for walk-ins are never asked for a card.

3

Review fees when something goes wrong

A late cancellation or no-show appears as a fee to review. Charge it, waive it, or refund it later. Reports keep fees separate from booked takings.

Questions operators ask before switching

Is the card ever charged automatically?

No. Slotivo only flags that a fee is due. The business decides whether to charge it or waive it.

Can I use card on file and deposits together?

Card on file replaces a salon-wide deposit. A service that has its own deposit still takes the deposit, so you can keep deposits for your longest or most valuable treatments.

Does it cost extra?

No. Card on file is included on every plan, including the free plan. Stripe charges its standard fee on any fee you collect.

What happens if the card is declined?

The fee shows as failed with the reason, and you can try again later or let it go.

Do I need a card reader?

No. Clients save their card on your online booking page, and any fee is charged through your own Stripe account.

Running your business in Ireland

The things that are different for Irish salons, clinics and studios.

Priced in euro

Free for one or two staff. Bigger teams pay a flat €6 a month for unlimited staff, billed in euro, so there’s no sterling price to convert.

Irish bank holidays

Add St Brigid’s Day, St Patrick’s Day and the June, August and October bank holidays as closed dates, and clients can’t book you on them. Your booking page runs on Irish time.

VAT on your services

Hairdressing moved to the 9% VAT rate on 1 July 2026. You only have to register for VAT once your services pass €42,500 in a rolling 12 months. Set your prices the way you charge them; Slotivo doesn’t add VAT to your clients’ bookings.

Weighing up Phorest?

Phorest, founded in Dublin, is the name many Irish salons know. It suits larger salons that want marketing built in. Slotivo is for teams that want online booking and deposits without a per-staff bill.
