Yoga Studios Sell Access, Not Just Slots
A hair salon books one service at a time. A yoga studio often sells several ways into the same class — a single drop-in, a fixed-length course, a discounted class pack or an ongoing membership. Before comparing software, decide which of these you actually sell, because each one needs different things from a booking system.
What to Look For
1. Recurring Bookings, and Packs Only If You Need Them
Students shouldn't have to rebook the same weekly class by hand. Look for software that can hold a recurring booking for a regular student. If you sell prepaid packs or memberships, you'll also need credit tracking or membership billing. If most students pay per class or per course, a simpler and cheaper system will do the job.
2. Capacity Per Room, Not Just Per Class
A studio running multiple rooms needs capacity tied to the room a class is actually in — a hot yoga room with 15 mats has a different limit to a smaller therapy space next door. Booking software should stop a class being scheduled somewhere it physically can't fit.
3. Multi-Teacher Scheduling
Studios with several teachers need each teacher's own availability reflected on the timetable, including cover arrangements when a regular teacher is away. A clean staff-per-class structure avoids classes appearing on the public timetable with nobody actually booked to run them.
4. A Waitlist for Popular Classes
Evening and weekend classes fill up fast in most studios.
