Booksy Fees UK: Subscription, Boost and Card Payment Costs (2026)

By Slotivo Editorial Team

Booksy’s headline price is simple: one monthly subscription with all features included. What you actually pay depends on how many people take bookings, whether you use Boost to get new clients from the Booksy marketplace, and how clients pay.

Pricing checked 27 September 2026 on Booksy’s UK pricing page. Booksy adds VAT to all its prices, so the figures below are before VAT unless stated.

Booksy’s Monthly Subscription

  • £40 a month for the core plan, covering one user.
  • £5 a month for each additional user.
  • A 7-day free trial, with no card needed to start.
  • No contract: Booksy says you can cancel at any time.

With VAT at 20%, a solo barber pays £48 a month. A three-chair shop pays £50 before VAT, or £60 with it. The subscription includes Booksy’s marketplace listing, online booking, reminders and client management.

Booksy Boost: The Commission Fee

Boost is Booksy’s paid promotion in its marketplace. It is free to switch on and has no monthly fee. Instead, Booksy charges a one-time 30% fee on a new client’s first booking while Boost is active, with a £5 minimum. There is no charge for clients who book through your own Booksy profile link.

  • A £30 skin fade from a Boost client costs £9, or £10.80 with VAT.
  • A £15 beard trim hits the minimum: £5 rather than £4.50, or £6 with VAT.

If you leave Boost switched off, you pay no commission to Booksy at all.

Card Payment Fees

Booksy has no monthly fee for taking payments, but charges per transaction:

  • Mobile payments: 1.29% + 20p + VAT.
  • Tap to Pay on your phone: 0.99% + 20p + VAT.
  • Fast payouts within 30 minutes: an extra 1.5%.

On a £30 appointment paid through Booksy’s mobile payments, that is about 59p, or 70p with VAT.

Text Messages

Appointment confirmations and reminders are free. Booksy includes 500 marketing text messages a month; after that each one costs 5p. Email marketing is included.

What Booksy Costs in a Typical Month

A three-chair barbershop with Boost switched on, which gets 10 new Boost clients at £30 and takes £4,000 through Booksy’s mobile payments, would pay roughly:

  • Subscription: £50
  • Boost: 10 × £9 = £90
  • Card payments: 1.29% of £4,000 plus 20p on each of about 133 payments ≈ £78
  • Total ≈ £218 before VAT, about £262 with it.

With Boost off, the same shop would pay about £128 before VAT. Your own figures will differ, so run the numbers with your last three months of bookings.

Is Booksy Worth It?

Booksy suits barbers and salons that want marketplace visibility and like having payments, marketing texts and booking in one app. Boost can pay for itself if the clients it brings keep coming back.

If most of your clients already find you through Instagram, Google or word of mouth, you may be paying for a marketplace you don’t need. Slotivo is free for one or two staff and £10 a month flat for bigger teams, with no commission; online payments go through Stripe at Stripe’s standard rates.
